First or fiftieth set, we can always use the latest Dash applications tips and reminder.
1. Each Dash has a number on the underside of the dash.
a. The number goes at the TIP of you nail for application (NOT the cuticle).
2. When you size your dashes, be sure to go TRUE TO SIZE.
a. You don’t need to leave a gap around your nail bed like with strips or other brands.
b. If you size too big, the dashes will get air bubbles underneath and likely pop off.
3. Size all your fingers and/or toes and lay out your Dashes so they are ready for application.
4. Push back your cuticles with the orange stick or better yet, our cuticle pusher.
BUFF the nail surface with the dark side of the file, only to lightly rough up the nail. Don’t over file! I like to use the pink side of our full size Nail File.
6. Wipe nail surface with an alcohol wipe. I wipe my nails with one and go over them with the second. if you have oily nail beds, do this well, a couple times, to ensure you remove any oil or residue.
7. Start with your pinky. Then do the other pinky. Work your way in on each hand. Trust me on this!
8. Brush on Nail Glue makes application 100x easier and ensures the best adhesion. If using Brush On Glue, “paint” your full nail, ensuring an even, heavy coat, then I put a brush “dot” in the middle of my nail.
9. If you are using the glue from your Dash box, spread glue around your nail (like all around it) then do the same to the dash. THE GLUE GOES ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE NUMBER.
a. The thicker the coat of glue, the longer the dashes will stay.
10. Wait a few seconds.. then just pop on and lightly press, like the video.
a. Use a 45 degree angle like the graphic shows.
b. The dash is made to be tapered at the cuticle, so be sure to slide it up near/a little
under the cuticle.
c. No space is needed like the nail strips or short lasting drug store press on.
11. Clean any glue residue with Non Acetone Nail Polish Remover (even on the dash surface! *Except if it is a matte or chrome finish, just let that glue wear off)
12. File or clip your dash to preferred length/shape.
*If clipping, I highly recommend our Dash Reshaper.
a. No Reshaper? Be sure to clip half the dash from one side, then again on the other.
b. Clipping the whole dash in one clip can cause breakage.
c. If I clip or file, I like to seal the end of my dash with a little glue or polish, just to give it
extra protection against wear since I clipped the sealed end off.
All the steps below are in the graphics and the video. I am a visual person, so I like to see how it is done.
